Monthly Socials

The Johnson County Democratic Party’s Monthly Socials are held the second Tuesday of the month. The Socials are held at the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center located at 425 Grandbury St. in Cleburne, Texas. The Socials begin at 6:30 PM. A pot luck dinner is served. Donations to the Party are always welcome. Hope to see you there.

  • Yup, it is that time again. This Friday, 2/24 at Villa Dianna Italian Restaurant in Burleson, Texas. Starts at 6:30 PM. BYOB. Good food, good drink, and good conversation with folks of like mind.
  • Time for the JCDP's Monthly Social. The usual time, 6:30 PM. The usual place, Cleburne Cultural Arts Center, 424 N Granbury, Cleburne, Texas. This month we welcome our speaker, Gabrina Soliz of the Cleburne Railroader Baseball Team. A pot luck supper will be served. A $10 donation per plate is appreciated.   • A tip of the hat to the Texas Democratic Women of Johnson County represented by Deborah Sizemore who have delivered over 20 dozen home baked cookies to the Family Crises Center. TDW supports Community Action and Activism projects at the  local, state, and national levels. Good job.

  • That's right. The Johnson County Democratic Party is going to have a Watch Party. The "watching" will be going on at the Party HQ located in the Cultural Arts Center in Cleburne. The Party's party is scheduled to start at 7 PM until who knows. Come on out and tally the Electoral College votes together as Hillary marches to a win.
  • The Texas Democratic Women of Johnson County have their own web site. Pretty cool. Here is the address www.TDWJohnsoncounty.com . Check the site out.
  • Due to the election and the fact that many of us are poll workers, the Social for November is cancelled. Go vote.
  • Oct. 29th the Texas Democratic Women of Johnson County are sponsoring a Halloween Party. "The most fun you will ever have for $5!" 6:30 pm at Kat and Rana's house, 316 Featherston St., Cleburne. Best chili, best costume, best dessert will lead to a fun evening. Hope to see everyone there.
  • Time for the October meeting of Drinking Liberally. A chance for Democrats from Johnson, Tarrant, and surrounding counties to enjoy good food, good drink, and good conversation together. This will be the last meeting before Taco Tuesday November 8th. Friday Oct. 28th,at 6:30 PM. The usual location at Villa Dianna, 2475 E. Renfro St., Burleson, Texas. BYOB. Let's all get together and have a good time.
  • The Texas Democratic Women of Johnson County are having their monthly meeting Oct. 15, 3-6 PM at Rosa's in Burleson, Texas. This promises to be an exciting meeting with the instillation of new officers and guest speaker Celeste Hopkins of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Also, bring a friend and win a prize.  Hoping for a large turnout.

  • The Tarrant County Gay Pride Parade is Oct. 1 in Ft. Worth.  The Parade begins at Noon starting from Weatherford and Commerce and ending at E. Lancaster. The festival is near the Water Gardens. Johnson County Democrats and Texas Democratic Women are attending. Bring your family and join the fun.
  • Yup time for our monthly Drinking Liberally meetup. Same time 6:30, Friday Sept. 23. Same place, Villa Dianna Restaurant, 2475 E Renfro, Burleson, Texas. Drinking Liberally is a chance to socialize and network with people of like mind. BYOB or order your favorite non-alcoholic beverage. I suspect that Clinton-Kaine yard signs will be available at the meeting. Hope to see y'all there.
  • The new Clinton-Kaine yard signs have arrived. The signs are $5. $2 to cover the cost of the sign and a $3 donation to the Johnson County Democratic Party. Call (817) 558-4009 to order yours.
  • This month our guest speaker is Kathi Thomas, candidate for the U.S. Congress. Invite your friends to hear Kathi speak as she is running against Roger Williams. The day is Tuesday, September the 13th. The time is 6:30 PM. The place is the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center, 424 N Grandbury, Cleburne, Texas. A pot luck dinner will be served. Donations of $10 a plate are much appreciated. We hope to see all y'all there.
  • The Fourth Friday of the Month is here and time for Drinking Liberally. The date is August 26. The time is 6:30. The location is Villa Dianna, 2475 Renfro St., Burleson, Texas. BYOB. A great opportunity to share good food, good conversation, and good drink with folks of like mind. In addition, this will be a great way to kick off the VAN Training  on Saturday, August 27th at the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center. Let us know if you are coming (musicianblues@swbell.net).   • The Johnson County Democrats will be hosting VAN training for SD 22, Sat. August 27. The location is the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center, 425 Grandbury St., Cleburne, Texas. Doors open at 9:00 AM. Registration will start at 9:30. Training will begin at 10:00. We could use some help sitting things up before we start. This is excellent training to learn how to access and utilize the VAN rolls. We sure hope lots of folks show up. There are two options for lunch. A $10 BBQ plate or bring your own brown bag. Donations of soda and water will help off set costs. Let Linda Brown know if you want the BBQ lunch as they need a count.
  • The Johnson County Democratic Party is proud to announce that our guest speaker this month will be Phillip W. Miner. Mr. Miner is the Campaign Committee Chair for the Duval County Democratic Black Caucus. The Social will be held at the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center, 424 Grandbury St., Cleburne, Texas. The event will start at 6:30. A pot luck dinner will be served and a $10 donation per person will be greatly appreciated. Hope to see y'all there.
  • Marvin Sutton will be speaking at the July Monthly Social. As always the meeting beings at 6:30. July 12 is the date and the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center, 424 Grandbury St., Cleburne is the location. A $10 donation per person to cover Party expenses is appreciated. A pot luck dinner will be served. We hope to see lots of folks there. So come on out.

  • At this month's social our guest speaker will be R.C. McFall former County Commissioner for Johnson County. Mr. McFall will be speaking to the history and the future of the Democratic Party in Johnson County. We are looking forward to a great turnout. A pot luck supper will be served and a $10 donation per plate is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. The social starts at 6:30, June 14. The event will be held at the Cleburne Cultural Arts Center as usual.

  • We had a good turn out at the Johnson County Democratic Social last night. 25 plus folks braved the weather and attended the pot luck dinner (we had chocolate covered strawberries). Hats off to Cheryl Davis for another well organized pot luck. We were pleased to hear from Kat that the Friendly Johnson County Democrat tee shirt donation campaign is going well. We are all looking forward to the Texas Democratic Convention in San Antonio in June and plan to wear our shirts.

  • Sadly, Justin Garvin was unable to book a block of rooms for the Johnson County Convention attendees. Unfortunately, we are just too small a group.
